RSS Feed is a type of web feed which allows users and applications to access updates to online content in a standardized, computer-readable format.
TIP: Have a look at the block, headed ‘Red Website Design’ to the right of this post – that’s an RSS Feed. Every time they publish a new article, it appears on my website.
Your clients can subscribe to your RSS Feed, which means they will receive an email every time you publish a new post.
Your strategic partners can add your RSS feed to their websites [like I have with Red Website Design’s RSS Feed]. This allows visitors to their website to see your latest posts and it creates something called a backlink which will increase your rankings with the Search Engines.
You can add your strategic partners’ RSS Feeds to your website. Often they add value to your website. These feeds can, for example, allow a user to keep track of many different websites in a single news aggregator. I add RSS Feeds from the various newspapers as well as from my domain hosting clients to The Gremlin.
The Social Media platforms are using RSS Feeds more and more to drive their content.
